Eric Chenowith (Sports & Entertainment )

Biography

Eric played professional basketball for eight years after graduating from The University of Kansas with a degree in communication studies. Over his time of playing professional basketball domestically and abroad he has developed and maintained relationships all over the world giving him an international collection of business colleagues. In addition to working with Capitas, Eric owns his own life and disability insurance firm working with sports and entertainment agents, financial advisors and athletic directors for their clients’ insurance needs. In 2018, he joined the Capitas DI Center and is now a valuable asset in the Sports & Entertainment division.

Eric is a registered supporter and sponsor of the NCAA and NACDA’s National Association for Athletic Compliance (NAAC) working directly with university athletic directors and coaches at most all Power Five institutions to assist with their student-athlete disability insurance needs. Eric has successfully negotiated several Lloyd’s of London market record setting transactions along with multiple claim payouts which has escalated him to the leader in the industry. Along with specializing in Professional and Student-Athlete Sports Disability Insurance, Eric also provides sound life insurance guidance for athletes, entertainers and affluent individuals.

Eric lives in Corona del Mar with his wife Bethany, Son Cooper and French Bulldog, Sophie. His hobbies include spin, surfing, golf, playing the drums and mountain biking.
